HOLIDAY TIME!
Suddenly it's holiday time again although with the fuel issues hanging over us Easter may not be as busy as usual. It's been great to finally get the theatre open with good attendance. Performers and audiences have all been very impressed with the space and we hope it will be a valuable community facility for many years.
HEADLAND THEATRE
This April, the Headland Theatre comes alive with a spectacular mix of family fun, immersive experiences and extraordinary performance. Join Little Wing Puppets’ interactive detective adventure A Little Bit of Blue, sing and dance along with the award-winning kids’ band The Vegetable Plot, and be mesmerised by a 150-year-old magic lantern in a night of history, music and storytelling. Experience the power and brilliance of the female voice with Queenie van de Zandt’s DIVA, and celebrate Yuin language and culture through song with the intergenerational choir Djinama Yilaga. From puppetry and live music to heritage spectacle and cultural performance, there’s something for everyone to delight, learn and be inspired by.
To celebrate the opening of Headland Theatre, Tathra Hotel is presenting an open day on Saturday 18 April with heaps of free events across the site. The program will include poetry, live music, screenings, talks and presentations, culminating in a very special ticketed performance by Djinama Yilaga. The program will showcase many of the creative and cultural groups of the Bega Valley including Stonewave Taiko, Fling Physical Theatre, Far South Film and Ocean Mic Poets, as well as community musicians and performers. Program content and timing will be out soon.

KITCHEN
New Autumn Menu
The kitchen launched a new menu last month which will continue through the autumn. They are also working on menus for functions in the theatre.
Pizzas will be available every day during the hoilidays. The popular Sunday roast is available for lunch and dinner.
The hotel will again be supplying morning tea following the 8am service on Anzac Day.
BREWERY
Simon and his helpers had another successful canning run recently and cans of Pale Ale, IPA and Hazy Pale are now available at the hotel as well as local bottleshops and restaurants.
Two new seasonal beers will be on tap soon:
"Land Ho XPA"
All the hoppy goodness to help you breath a sigh of relief, just like the call of Land Ho after a long journey at sea.
"Where's the Lighthouse Hazy Pale"
This popular brew returns with a touch more Strata to balance the Enigma, providing the same great taste as before just with a bit more juicy balance to it.
LIVE MUSIC & EVENTS
We will continue to have free live music in the bar. After Easter the music will start at 3.30pm. This month we have:
April 4,5,6: Jazz Alley (4-7pm)
April 11, 12: ChangoTRee
April 19: Malumba
April 25, 26: Pepper & Davies
The poplular SESSION will be on Friday April 3 from 6pm (fast session) and April 17 (slow session). The guitar sing-along session will be on Thursday April 23 from 5:30pm.
There is now a piano in the bar and is not there just for hired musicians - if anyone feels like playing ask the bar staff for a key.
HEADLAND WRITERS FESTIVAL
Oct. 23-25
Planning is well underway for this year's event on October 23 - 25. Earlybird passes will be on sale soon. More info at their website (www.headlandfestival.com.au).
POETS BREAKFAST - OPEN MIC
April 26 9am - 11am
“Poets Breakfast - Open Mic” will be on the fourth Sunday of each month from 9am - 11am. A local poet group Ocean Mic Poets will host the events. The next one will be on April 26.
