Happy New Year to all our customers!

It has been very rewarding for us all to see lots of people coming to the hotel and enjoying the facilities. We’ve had a very busy time since we reopened in mid November; since Christmas it has been pretty crazy at times. There have been days when the kitchen has put out more than 1500 items in a day. The hotel has been running pretty smoothly although those sort of numbers put a lot of stress on equipment and staff.
The hotel opens at 9am everyday and there have been quite a few groups dropping in for a morning tea or coffee with an ocean view.

All the ten beers and two ciders we have on tap have been selling well – the most popular seem to be Kiandra Golden Ale and Island Bend Pilsner from Jindabyne BrewingMt Tennent Pale Ale from Pact Beer Co and Summer Ale from Capital Brewing Co in Canberra. There has been a lot of interest in the microbrewery proposed for the space behind the bar – the design is being finalised and we hope to have it operating later in the year.
The BISTRO is open every day for lunch and dinner. Reservations can be made for the dining room. If the dining area is full, there are still plenty of tables in the bar and on the deck. Check menu here.

Our LIVE MUSIC is proving to be very popular and the afternoon time slot 4.30pm – 7.30pm seems to work well. We are still learning how to get the best from the in house sound system – the artists love not having to bring a lot of gear with them.  There is music on everyday until Jan 28 - we are looking forward to welcoming international artistsBreaking Trad from Ireland (Jan 15 – 18) and John John Festival from Japan (Jan 19, 20) who also play Irish music! On January 26 James Crabb, world famous accordionist and director of the Four Winds Festival is making a guest appearance.

The four new “Heritage” rooms above the bar are proving popular with travellers. All the accommodation can be booked on line through the hotel’s website.

The TROVE, the antique, art & collectable shop is next door to the hotel and open everyday through January from 10am – 4.30pm. Contact: Sharon Stevens 048 734 7110

Those of you who were here on Christmas Eve will be pleased to know that local musician Phil Moriarty is making a good recovery following his heart attack on stage.
