Steve Durie is an Australian songwriter, performer and storyteller who performs as The Gippsland Troubadour. Touring regularly through regional communities across south-eastern Australia, from Gippsland to the NSW north coast, he presents contemporary Australian songs rooted in place, history and community. Influenced by folk, country, blues and Americana, he shares both his own songs and those of fellow Gippsland songwriters, celebrating a living tradition in which songs continue to travel between people and places.
Warm storytelling, expressive vocal delivery and engaging guitar work that combines compelling rhythmic grooves with expressive melodic lines create an intimate performance where audiences are invited into the places, characters and experiences behind the songs.
