Minnie and The Moonrakers is a rhythm and blues quartet playing music inspired by the raw, powerful recordings of a bygone era. The vocalist, Siobhan O’Brien aka Minnie, is a soulful performer with a big, gritty sound. She is backed by guitarist Greg Duncan Powell, renowned for his chunky rhythms and edge of the seat guitar riffing.
In 2026 the ever-touring band - which has brought its original musical gumbo to a host of festivals, events and venues across Australia – was given the nod by ABC’s Triple J Unearthed. And music from their latest EP Sobriquet (available now on all listening platforms) was given airtime on 3RRR independent radio.
Notable gigs include: International Blues Festival (Canberra), The Blues Train (Queenscliff), MONA Museum (Hobart), Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (Rutherglen), Spring Ditch Festival (Stanley), North East Food and Wine Festival (Wodonga), Crank It Up (Batemans Bay), supporting festival favourites 19-Twenty and many more.
Additionally, the group was invited to be part of the ongoing Blues Music Victoria Women In Blues initiative headed by internationally renowned blues musician Andrea Marr.
