Blue Mallee are a genre-bending duo fusing indie rock, ambient textures and traditional folk roots. Evan and Niev push the boundaries of contemporary folk music with roaring vocals, evocative storytelling, and a generous dose of wit woven into their live performances.
With a loyal and growing fanbase, Blue Mallee have performed across NSW and at festivals including Bundanoon Folk Festival, Yass Irish & Celtic Festival, Tilba Festival, Culburra Beach Festival, Spirit Of The Land Festival and Uranquinty Folk Festival. They've shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as The Black Sorrows, Conrad Sewel, Harry Manx, Ash Grunwald and Boo Seeka.
Their sound fashions cinematic alt-folk landscapes, blending dreamy ambient rock with poetic grit. Their live shows are part concert, part storytelling: humorous, heartfelt, sometimes educational, sometimes fictional.
After receiving a music grant, Blue Mallee released their debut record ‘Shout That Whisper/Questions Of Fear’ to wide critical acclaim.
