Australia’s favourite ‘one-pub-band’, WRACK & RUIN will be attempting to launch their new CD (that’s right CD) at the Tathra Hotel, for the second time on March 8th and 9th. The CD titled THE BEAT TAKES OVER is the bands first recorded output and brings together their love of tambourines and pop modulation with their trademark girl-group harmonies and riffing rhythms. All this on the back of Phil Moriarty’s idiosyncratic lyrical approach and preference for showboating melodic thrills.
With guest Saxonhonist Casey Greene filling in for Tabitha; long time band members Andy Zarins on piano, Myoung Jae Yi on bass and Russell Cook on drums doing their groovy thing; highlights such as a recipe for Pumpkin Risotto set to music and Bob Dylan’s Highway 61 reimagined in the style of Eddie Cochran, cha chas, rhumbas, bossa novas,… it’s gonna be a blast!
Some bands are able to launch an album in one go, for WRACK & RUIN it takes a bit of a run-up.
