A special weekend of music inspired by the bequeathed cassette tape collection of the late local Bobby Jazzler. Bobby was a scottish immigrant with a profound love of jazz, his travels led him to spend time as a psychiatric nurse at Long Bay goal in the 1950's and then on to running a candy store in a quiet village on the South Coast. His collection of swing era music was vast but he particularly liked Australian renditions of the old Broadway repertoire.
The Rough Diamonds come together to pay homage to Bobby's collection of standards and sing songs of 1920's and 1930's prohibition era. Featuring vocals and instrumental talents of Colleen Spillane, Nick Keeling, Robyn Martin, Ken Vatcher and Sam Martin. Weaving in and out of the swing era, expect a weekend of foxtrotting fun, improvisation and some of the great standards of the 21st century.
