Something old … something new … something bluegrass.
Ray Gardaya and Richard Braithwaite are “No Boundaries” because we believe that music has no boundaries. It exists for everyone to enjoy. Our recipe for music is an eclectic blend of folk, country, bluegrass and originals, and the basic flavours are guitar and mandolin with a dash of fiddle, bottleneck and banjo.
Ray Gardaya draws his experience from many years of playing and writing songs and melodies. Bands like Billabong Along, Seaside Mountaineers, Welcome Strangers and The Front Porch Pickers. Ray and Richard got together through the Southern Valley Folk Club which Ray is the president of.
Richard Braithwaite began playing guitar when he was 11. His love of guitar playing became a major part of his misspent youth, and he is still misspending it now (although he is now severely overdrawn on the youth factor). In his late teens and early twenties he was active in the Melbourne folk scene playing contemporary and traditional folk music as a soloist as well as being a member of the Holler Bluegrass Band and the Three Cornered Jack Australian Dance Band. He has also played lead guitar in a number of rock bands over the years and even dabbled in musical theatre, having once played the role of Peter in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
