LIVE MUSIC with ' Mike Martin, Peter Logue and Friends ' at the Tathra Hotel.

Sun 21st Mar. 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Mike Martin spent many years in Bathurst, where his love of Australian dance tunes and songs led to collecting, recording and popularising the dance tunes of the late Joe Yates, a traditional fiddle player from central NSW, regarded as one of Australia's richest sources of rare colonial dance music and songs.

An accomplished songwriter in his own right, Mike has released several CDs of original songs. Mike has toured Europe and his residential work includes two years in Vancouver, Canada, one year at Old Sydney Town, Gosford NSW. A popular performer at Folk Festivals, clubs and arts societies across the country, Mike also organises and plays for the ever popular Kameruka Bush Orchestra with regular dances held at local halls and functions in his area. As an Australian National Busking Champion (2012), Mike is equally at home in open air venues and concert venues.

Mike resides on the far south coast of NSW and has always been involved in regional and rural communities and the promotion of all aspects of the arts.

For the Sunday March 21st gig, at the Tathra Hotel, Mike will be joined by Peter Louge. A multi instrumentalist and respected accompanist with an Irish lilt to accompany his accent. Peter and his wife Zena are also South Coast residents and major movers for the Cobargo Folk Festival.
