The Hoops are a four piece band from The Far South Coast of New South Wales specializing in authentic 1950s Rock’n’Roll. The band faithfully covers songs by such all time favourites as Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Ritchie Valens, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
Jamie Forbes sings lead and plays rhythm guitar and toured Australia as “Buddy Holly” in a tribute band throughout the 90s. He is also an award winning writer and actor, seen most recently in Frankie J. Holden’s production of Ladies in Black. David Sparks plays lead guitar in The Hoops and is a well known producer for acts including Daniel Champagne. He also played with The Lime Spiders, The Saints and Gyan as well as many others. Robyn Martin sings and plays stand up bass. In her search for herself, Robyn completed a Bachelor of Music and travelled extensively across Australia playing Folk, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz, Reggae, Funk and Soul at Lamington Festivals and CWA halls. Recently she has toured with Melanie Horsnell and Pete Wild and is a member of the acclaimed New Graces. Jonathan 'Trapper' Trevena is the backbone of the band on drums. Trapper has played and recorded with Jimmy Little, Sharon O’Neal, Cirque du Solei, Marcia Hines and John Paul Young, to name but a few.
