Sam Martin and the Sundowners present a weekend of music paying homage to the jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli. Stephan was a French man of humble origin who was a pioneer of violin in jazz music. He is perhaps best remembered for his Gypsy Jazz roots and collaborations with guitarist Django Reinhardt. Stephane collaborated with many musicians all over the world in his 89 years and the Sundowners will shed light on some of these collaborations through telling parts of his story and performing a selection of his most loved tunes. Joining the band on Violin will be Dan Efraemson of Malumba. Live Gypsy Swing with a piano trio, featuring Sam Martin, Pete Wild and David Hewitt daily at the Tathra Hotel.
