Mikelangelo is no stranger to south coast audiences with his beloved Black Sea Gentlemen. Indulging a completely different side of his musical output, Spectres of Love delve into 60’s pop, doo-wop, surf, swamp, gospel, and garage rock; shaping these influences into irresistible original songs and an amazing live show. The band features AJ True on Drums, Dirk Kruitof on guitar, Michaela on Bass, and Mikelangelo on vocals and guitar.
Spectres of Love first came together 10 years ago as the backing band for a rock’n’roll theatre show called The Honeymoon Suite. The group reformed in 2016 for a Halloween show in Sydney and had so much fun they went to record the Mancave EP and tour the east coast last summer, including shows at Sydney Festival and St Kilda Festival in Melbourne. Now they kick off the 2018 summer of love with a four night run at the Tathra Hotel.
