The Black Mountain String Band is a celebration of string band music in all its forms.
They combine fiddles and banjos along with guitar and double bass to draw from a deep wellspring of tradition, while adding timeless original material. They cleverly arrange their material in a seamless presentation that will delight aficianados and new audiences alike. The band is Donal Baylor, Jacqueline Bradley, Matt Nightingale, Kevin Bradley and Pablo Shopen, continuing the revival of Pablo’s father’s band of the same name from the 1970’s.
The band has recorded 2 albums - "Time Traveller" and "Round Again", and have been featured performers at multiple festivals around Australia. Gathered around a single microphone, their live show is impressive in its range from bluegrass, to old timey, folk, country, and swing. Band members take turns on lead vocals and solo instruments in a dazzling musical revue that is bound to delight audiences.
